UCWDC World's 2008
UCWDC World's at Opryland hotel in Nashville, TN was a great success for my competition girl's. It was a little different format this year and the large floor was divided for the lower divisions. This created both routine blocking problems and floor craft issues as well. I believe that it was cheesey at best. It wasn't what I would have expected of a World championship venue. The shortcuts made it seem less than perfect.
Performing on the stage of the Grand Old Opry was a good place for a show, but disrespectful of competing couples and judges. The judges did not have a clear line of sight to the couples at all times and they were simply too far away. So much is missed when you are not on the edge of the dance floor, up close and personal.
Grand Championships...good idea, but poorly organized.
Overall feeling this year was lackluster.
The girls danced great!
