ACDA Louisiana Hayride
The Louisiana Hayride was a new ACDA event added to the competition schedule this year. As a rule, I typically will not attend many first year events. I want them settled in their organization and I want my student's to have a good experience. I can say that without a doubt my student's had a blast and the event went off without any problems. There were no late running schedules or registration problems. In fact, they finished and did awards early on Sunday. Part of this due to the fact that they had a smaller turnout this year, but still they were considerate of everyone who had to drive home.

Some of the pluses about this event were the hotel, which was clean and had big rooms. The ballroom was great and the event director (Ray Michel's) and staff did an excellent job decorating the ballroom. Man, did that air conditioning cool the room! Some memorable things about the event was the food. They exposed the attendees to what I believe is one of the best cuisines...yes, I am talkin' bout Cajun food!
